About WAT

What does WAT do?

WAT is a full-service industrial company based in Muscat, Oman. We specialise in six core services: equipment overhauling, protective coating, sandblasting, motor repair, metal fabrication, and general engineering. We work with clients across oil and gas, water treatment, power generation, marine, manufacturing, and construction sectors throughout Oman.

Where is WAT located?

Our main workshop and office is located in Misfah, Muscat, Oman. From there we deploy teams to sites across the Sultanate — including remote interior locations, coastal facilities, and offshore platforms.

Which areas in Oman do you cover?

We cover the whole of Oman. Our teams regularly travel to the Interior (Ibri, Adam, Fahud), the South (Salalah), coastal governorates, and offshore locations. For workshop-based work such as motor repair and fabrication, equipment is transported to our Muscat facility and returned once complete.

How long has WAT been operating?

WAT has been active in Oman’s industrial sector for over 10 years, building a strong reputation for quality workmanship and reliable delivery across multiple service disciplines.

Overhauling Services

What types of equipment do you overhaul?

We overhaul a wide range of industrial equipment including centrifugal pumps, multistage pumps, reciprocating pumps, compressors, gearboxes, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, blowers, fans, and valves. If it can be dismantled, inspected, and rebuilt, we can handle it.

Can you do overhauls on-site at our facility?

Yes. We have mobile service teams equipped to carry out on-site overhauls at client facilities. This is particularly useful during planned shutdowns where transporting equipment to a workshop is not practical. We bring the tools, expertise, and documentation to your site.

How long does an equipment overhaul take?

Turnaround time depends on the size and condition of the equipment. A standard pump overhaul typically takes 3 to 7 working days in our workshop. Emergency jobs can be fast-tracked — we have completed critical overhauls within 24 to 48 hours when production is at risk. We always provide an estimated timeline after initial inspection.

Motor Repair

What motor sizes and types do you repair?

We repair motors from 1 kW small pump motors up to 1 MW large industrial drives. We handle LV motors (up to 3.3 kV), AC induction motors, DC motors, and submersible motors. We work across all sectors — oil and gas, water and utilities, cement, marine, and HVAC.

Is it better to repair or replace a failed motor?

In most cases, repairing is significantly more cost-effective than replacement — especially for larger motors. A professional rewind typically costs 30–45% of the price of a new motor and can extend the motor’s life by 8–15 years. We also upgrade the insulation system during the rewind, which often makes the repaired motor more reliable than the original. We will always give you an honest assessment after inspection.

How fast can you repair a motor?

For emergency situations we offer 24-hour strip-down and assessment, with a 48-hour rewind option for smaller motors. Standard jobs are typically completed within 4 to 10 working days depending on motor size and winding complexity. We have returned 132 kW submersible motors to service in 4 days — compared to an 8-week import lead time for a replacement.

Do you offer a warranty on motor repairs?

Yes. We provide a 12-month warranty on rewound windings from the date of collection. If the winding fails under normal operating conditions within that period, we rewind it again at no charge — you only cover freight costs.

Protective Coating & Sandblasting

What surfaces and structures can you coat?

We coat a wide range of industrial surfaces and structures including storage tanks, pipelines, structural steel, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, offshore platforms, marine vessels, process equipment, skids, and building structures. Both internal and external coating systems are available.

What coating systems do you use?

We apply a wide range of industrial coating systems depending on the application: epoxy, polyurethane, zinc-rich primers, ceramic coatings, intumescent (fireproofing) coatings, and chemical-resistant linings. We work with leading products from Hempel, Jotun, Belzona, and other reputable manufacturers to select the right system for each job.

Do you handle both the sandblasting and coating, or just one?

We handle both — surface preparation (sandblasting/abrasive blasting) and coating application are done by the same team under one contract. This avoids coordination issues between separate contractors and ensures the coating is applied to the correct surface profile without delay.

Fabrication

What types of fabrication work do you do?

We fabricate structural steel (beams, columns, platforms, pipe racks, staircases), piping spools and manifolds, pressure vessels, storage tanks, modular skid packages (pump skids, chemical dosing units, filtration units), and custom one-off components. We work in carbon steel, stainless steel, and duplex materials.

Can you fabricate custom or non-standard items?

Yes — custom and non-standard fabrication is one of our strengths. If you have a drawing, sketch, or specification, we can fabricate it. We also offer basic in-house engineering and drafting support if you need a design developed before fabrication.

Working With WAT

How do I get a quote from WAT?

Simply contact us via email at service@watengineering.com or use the contact form on our website. Describe your requirement, the type of equipment or structure, and your location. We will respond promptly to arrange an inspection or request further details to prepare a quotation.

Do you handle emergency or urgent jobs?

Yes. We understand that equipment failures can cause significant production losses and are structured to respond quickly. For motor repairs we offer 24-hour strip-down and 48-hour rewind options. For overhauling and on-site repairs, our teams can typically be mobilised within hours for Muscat-area jobs and within the same day for most other Oman locations.

Can WAT handle multiple services on the same project?

Absolutely. Many of our projects involve several services together — for example, overhauling a pump, repairing its drive motor, sandblasting the skid frame, and recoating all equipment before reinstallation. Having all services under one contractor simplifies coordination, reduces interfaces, and usually saves time and cost.

Do you provide documentation and inspection reports?

Yes. All our jobs are completed with full technical documentation including inspection reports, test certificates, material traceability records, coating inspection reports (DFT readings, holiday test results), and performance test results as applicable. We understand that documentation is as important as the physical work in the industrial sector.
