⚡ Motor Repair Projects
BP Khazzan — 450 kW Booster Pump Motor Rewind
Client: BP Khazzan | Service: Motor Repair & Overhaul | Location: Interior Oman
A critical 450 kW, 3.3 kV booster pump motor at BP Khazzan’s tight-gas facility experienced rotor bar failure, threatening production continuity. WAT Engineering was mobilized to carry out a full rotor bar replacement and complete stator rewind. The job was completed within 72 hours — with core-loss results coming in 25% below the original OEM specification, meaning the motor actually performed better after the repair than it did when new.
Result: Motor returned to service in 72 hours. Core-loss 25% below OEM. Production downtime minimized.
Oman Water — 132 kW Submersible Motor Recovery
Client: Oman Water | Service: Motor Repair | Location: Muscat Region
A 132 kW submersible pump motor suffered severe saltwater ingress causing a complete winding burn-out. Rather than waiting 8 weeks for an imported replacement, the client turned to WAT. Our team stripped, assessed, and rewound the motor with Class 220°C high-temperature insulation — the entire job was completed and the motor was back in service within 4 days.
Result: 4-day turnaround vs. 8-week import lead time. Motor running with upgraded insulation system.
OCC Cement — 800 kW Kiln Fan DC Motor Armature Rewind
Client: Oman Cement Company (OCC) | Service: Motor Repair | Location: Muscat
A large 800 kW DC motor driving a critical kiln fan at OCC’s cement plant required a full armature rewind and commutator re-mica. Vibration levels on the machine had been causing recurring maintenance issues. WAT Engineering carried out the complete repair in-workshop, and post-repair vibration measurements showed a 70% reduction in vibration — significantly improving reliability and extending the machine’s operational life.
Result: Armature rewound, commutator restored. Vibration reduced by 70%. Machine life extended.
⚙️ Overhauling Projects
Emergency Overhaul — Water Injection Pumps, Refinery Shutdown

During a planned refinery shutdown, WAT Engineering was called in to carry out emergency overhauls on a bank of critical water injection pumps. The scope included complete dismantling, bearing replacement, wear ring replacement, shaft inspection, hydraulic testing, and full reassembly — all within the compressed shutdown window. The pumps were returned to service on schedule, avoiding costly production delay.
Result: Multiple pumps overhauled within shutdown window. Zero production delay on restart.
Multistage Booster Pump Refurbishment — Water Transmission Line

WAT Engineering was engaged to carry out a full performance restoration on a series of multistage booster pumps serving a major water transmission line. The pumps had degraded significantly over years of operation. Our team performed precision clearance restoration, dynamic balancing, impeller replacement, and seal upgrades — bringing the pumps back to near-original hydraulic performance and significantly reducing energy consumption.
Result: Hydraulic performance restored. Energy consumption reduced. Extended asset life without replacement.
🛡️ Protective Coating & Sandblasting Projects
Tank Farm Corrosion Protection — Storage Tank Recoating
Service: Sandblasting & Protective Coating | Sector: Oil & Gas / Storage | Location: Oman
WAT Engineering carried out a full surface preparation and recoating campaign on a large storage tank farm. The scope included abrasive blasting of all tank exteriors to Sa 2.5 standard, followed by application of a multi-coat epoxy and polyurethane topcoat system. The project was completed on schedule with all coating thickness and holiday testing results meeting client specifications, achieving an expected corrosion protection life of 15+ years.
Result: Full recoating completed to spec. 15+ year corrosion protection life achieved.
Oilfield Equipment Refurbishment — Wellhead & Skid Coating

WAT was contracted to carry out surface preparation and recoating of wellhead equipment, separators, and process skids for an oilfield refurbishment program. Working in harsh desert conditions, our teams blasted and applied specialized coating systems designed to resist both the extreme UV exposure and the corrosive process fluids common in oilfield environments. All work was completed with full HSE compliance and documented inspection records.
Result: Equipment life extended. Full documentation package handed over. On-time delivery in remote location.
Pipeline Rehabilitation — Above-Ground Pipeline Recoating
Service: Sandblasting & Protective Coating | Sector: Pipeline / Infrastructure | Location: Oman
WAT Engineering carried out an external pipeline recoating campaign on an aging above-ground pipeline network, using specialized high-build coating systems designed for long-term protection in Oman’s harsh environment. The scope included mechanical preparation, spot blast repairs, full overcoat application, and holiday detection testing across the entire pipeline length.
Result: Pipeline rehabilitated with new coating system. Full inspection records provided. Service life significantly extended.

Structural Steel Fabrication — Power Plant Support Structures

WAT Engineering was engaged to fabricate structural steel support structures for a new power generation project in Oman. The scope included turbine access platforms, heavy-duty cable racks, and pipe bridge structures — all designed and fabricated to handle heavy dynamic loads and the demanding outdoor environment. All fabrication was completed with full weld inspection documentation and material traceability records, delivered on the project schedule.

Modular Pump Skid Packages — Remote Oilfield Locations

WAT Engineering designed and fabricated a series of modular pump skid packages and chemical dosing units for remote oilfield locations in the interior of Oman. The modular approach was critical — these units needed to be fully pre-assembled, tested, and ready for installation with minimal on-site work due to the remote locations and tight commissioning windows. All skids were delivered complete with piping, electrical connections, and instrumentation pre-installed.
Result: On-site installation time reduced significantly. All skids commissioned on schedule in remote locations.
